UFC Fight Night 74: Max Holloway wants Conor McGregor rematch, Says “I would fight McGregor any day of the week”

By

After an injury suffered by Charles Oliveira, Max Holloway claimed his seventh consecutive UFC victory. The last man to beat Holloway was current interim champion Conor McGregor and in turn, Holloway badly wants a rematch with McGregor.

According to MMA Junkie, Holloway has defeated every opponent he has faced in the UFC. The latest performance in that streak was a victory in a fight with Charles Oliveira (20-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC). Hollyway was declared victorious on a first-round TKO after "Do Bronx" suffered an injury less than two minutes into the fight.

The 23- year old champion became the youngest fighter in UFC history to earn 10 victories when he beat Oliveira in his first main event at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. "Blessed" has scored nine wins and six stoppages in featherweight competition, both records for the weight class. "All I can say is I work hard; the sacrifice is real, I can say," Holloway said.

On the other hand, Holloway has revealed that he wanted another fight with "Notorious", and "Blessed" said via MMA Mania, "I can't sit over here and say he McGregor is not the real deal. He has been doing so much for the sport and doing awesome. At the end of the day, I want my rematch because I believe I can beat him." He continued by saying, " I want to rematch him and see how it goes. He emphasized that the fight between him and McGregor would be great. The first fight was great, the second will be awesome.

And on a separate report by Fox Sports, Holloway reportedly wants a rematch with McGregor. "I'll fight him any day of the week," he told reporters at the post-event news conference. He also added, "Now, I don't have a fight, I can talk how I feel, you know? I'll fight McGregor any day of the week. "

There's no question that Holloway has done nothing but impress since he faced McGregor. Many UFC fans speculate that if he wins another fight or two, a rematch with McGregor could possibly be settled. But for now, the latter is set to fight champion Jose Aldo on December 12th at UFC 194. "Notorious", on the other hand, has won four more bouts since he defeated Holloway. And in July, he beated Chad Mendes, becoming the interim champion.
