Chris Weidman speaks out on Anderson Silva: “People don’t like liars”, Silva to face Chael Sonnen in 2016?

After Anderson Silva failed multiple of tests and defended himself in court, Chris Weidman recently discussed Silva's recent hearing before the Nevada Athletic Commission. On the other hand, Chael Sonnen reportedly hinted that he wants a third fight with Anderson Silva.

UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman recently appeared on Ariel Helwani's The MMA Hour on Monday, and discussed Anderson Silva's recent hearing before the Nevada Athletic Commission. Silva had failed multiple PED tests, but did not confess, instead offering a story about taking a sexual enhancement drug from Thailand that tested positive for PEDs.

"I watched like a little bit of it and I saw some people talk about it, so I don't know all of the facts," Weidman said as transcribed by Shaun Al-Shatti for MMA Fighting. He also stated that he doesn't want to talk about things like that without him knowing all the facts, but he heard people talking that Silva changed his story about three times.

He added, "I saw Bas Rutten said that. And my thing is just, everyone is a screw-up. I tweeted this out. But everybody messes up, so people understand that. But people don't like liars." He stressed that if you do mess up things, just be honest because people respect that you mess up and they will eventually understand because everybody messes up.

Weidman can't help but feel like Silva did a disfavor to himself by not coming clean about his mistakes. According to MMA Frenzy, Silva defended himself as a result of testing positive for several banned substances earlier this year.

More recently, it was revealed that Silva's camp planned to present evidence that a sexual performance medication the fighter took, was tainted with drostanolone metabolites. But at the end of the day, clearly the NSAC wasn't persuaded, as Silva was set for a one year suspension and was fined for $380,000. The suspension will be served up to January 31, 2016.

Moreover, Chael Sonen responded to Silva's continued claim was an act of insult towards the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Sonnen is also not a stranger to such drug test- related issues, having failed multiple tests up to his last match with Wanderlei Silva in 2013, as mentioned by Christian Today. The fighter is expected to return to the fighting arena after his two-year suspension is lifted in 2016.

With "The Spider" out until January 31 and Sonnen planning to return after a two-year break, the two could end up in a rematch as early as February 2016.Silva and Sonnen are no strangers to each other. Sonnen had challenged Silva twice before and now he was reportedly hinting Silva for another fight.

The 40 year-old star returned to the Octagon for the first time since 2013 in January, and worked his way to a UD win over Nick Diaz. Meanwhile, Sonnen is 0-2 against Silva. On the other hand, Weidman is booked to fight Luke Rockhold on December 12th at UFC 194.
