Players and fans of the Xenoblade Chronicles X can now mark their calendars, as the game will finally be released on December 4. It was first released in Japan on April 29, known locally as Xenoblade X; and now would cross North America, Europe and Australia in the coming months.
This announcement came out from a wave of information from Nintendo of its games' release dates. The new calendar included release dates for highly anticipated new games announced at E3, new Amiibo, and special promotional offers. These games and over would cover both Nintendo's Wii U and the 3DS portable system.
The open world role-playing video game is said to be the spiritual successor to Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii, Nintendo Enthusiast reported. Thus, it should be cleared out that Xenoblade Chronicles X is not a prequel or sequel to the previous Xeno title, but has the same elements, themes, and styles as its predecessor.
The game starts in the year 2054, when two alien races engage in battle near Earth, causing significant collateral damage to the planet. Governments had sensed Earth's annihilation, thus, humanity was forced to evacuate aboard enormous interstellar ark ships.
From there, the story follows the passengers of the American evacuee ship, the White Whale, as they crash land upon the planet Mira and attempt to establish their new home of "New Los Angeles," all the while still being hunted by one of the alien races.
The Nintendo Insider reported that a Wii U Premium Pack (containing a black premium Wii U, physical copy of the game, an Artbook and a World Map poster) and a Limited Edition Pack (including a physical copy of the game, SteelBook cover, World Map poster, Cover Art Poster and the Artbook) would be made available in Europe.
The new game from Monolith Software will be released exclusively for Wii U for $59.99 in Europe and North America on December 4.
