'Avengers: Infinity War Part 1' may feature the Hulk battling it out with the supervillain Thanos in outer space. Actor Jeremy Renner who plays Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) shared his opinion about the rumored Avengers-Guardians of the Galaxy crossover.
According to Movie Pilot, Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man may not be the only superhero heading out of Earth to fight the Mad Titan himself. Mark Ruffalo, who plays Dr. Bruce Banner a.k.a. the Hulk in the MCU, dropped hints of wanting his character to go into space but there had been no reports so far tying his large green humanoid to the speculated 'Avengers: Infinity War Part 1' plot line. He reportedly has four remaining films in his contract with Marvel studios leaving fans to speculate how his character may play a key role in the series.
In an article by Cinema Blend, Renner didn't seem optimistic about the merging of two different worlds any time soon. He was asked about the rumored team-up during a Q-&-A panel at the Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago to which he replied, "Is that going to happen? Do you know more than I know? I think they'll probably do another Guardians movie, and we still have Avengers 3 and 4 to do." It was further reported that writer/director James Gunn was careful about keeping the story of the Guardians separate from the Avengers.
Renner's Hawkeye will make his next big-screen appearance on the upcoming 'Captain America: Civil War' where he may team-up with either Chris Evans' Steve Rogers/Captain America or Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man, according to ComicBook.com. The other film in the MCU focuses on the struggle between the divided factions of the Avengers caused by a new government move to control the movements of all superheroes.
'Avengers: Infinity War Part 1' 'is an upcoming superhero film directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and produced by Marvel president Kevin Feige. The first part will be the sixth film in MCU's Phase Three and is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 4, 2018. Part 2, the ninth in the MCU, will follow on May 3, 2019.
