'Sherlock' Season 4 Update: Co-Creator Stephen Moffat Teases Fans Will Be Emotional, Will Mary Die?

By

"Sherlock" Season 4's premiere is coming in a few months and co-creator Stephen Moffat shared in an interview that the upcoming episodes will make fans very emotional. He pointed out that those who love the show will not stop crying due to the cliffhangers in every episode.

According to Movie Pilot, the creators of the show might be teasing about the emotional impact that the show will have as Mary Watson is speculated to be killed off in season 4. In the season 3 finale of "Sherlock," Mary was seen running from something and her murky past might catch up to her this upcoming season. Mary and John also had a short-lived marriage so this might have something to do with her being killed.

Martin Freeman, the actor who plays John, shared in an interview that his on-screen wife Mary will die at some point but did not give out details. However, Mary and John are expecting a child so it still remains in limbo if Season 4 is where Mary will be killed.

Meanwhile, in a report by Cross Map, Mark Gatiss shared that Benedict Cumberbatch has made Sherlock Holmes sexy. Gatiss said, "We all are extremely proud of Benedict Cumberbatch. Sherlock turned him from a respected actor into a star. That happens very rarely, and he is keen to keep playing the part because he knows how much it has done for him, how much people love him playing it, and he loves it as well."

As for other spoilers for "Sherlock" Season 4, iDigital Times reported that there will be one stand-alone episode before season 4 premieres. It will be set in the Victorian era and that fans will be treated to the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle short stories.

"Sherlock" season 4 will return to BBC by early 2017. Are you excited to see what the show has in store for you? Let us know below.
