According to Comic Book, "Gotham" Season 2 will be about the rise of the villains. The upcoming episodes will also offer more history about the family of Bruce Wayne. The incoming season will be very different from the first season as the next installment will also focus on the story of Joker.
Producer Danny Cannon said that "Gotham" season 2 will be split into 2 pieces but promised that the upcoming 22 episodes will be woven into one story. Cannon pointed out that there will be no individual stories per episode, Realty Today shared.
Cannon said, "It's a lot harder to break because we want to organically weave in a lot of origin stories into this one main story. It's very complex." He also teased about Bruce Wayne's transition into Batman noting that Gotham, Gordon will be needing him even more in season 2. This is because the villains will be rising thus the city will go out of control.
Cannon also shared that a villain in season 2 will be trying to outshine and outplay the other villains so fans are to expect a little competition between the baddies. Fans feel that Joker is the villain that Cannon is talking about since it was aforementioned that the second season will be focusing on the backstory of the villain.
"Gotham" Season 2 will be seeing more villains and the transition of Bruce Wayne into Batman. The show will be back this September 21.
