‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 5 Spoilers: Does Dark Emma’s fate rely on Henry?

A lot of speculations are swirling online as to how Emma Swan could be saved from the darkness. The most popular one, and possibly the most believable, is through the help of Merlin, to be played by Elliot Knight on "Once Upon A Time" season 5. However, there are reports that Henry could also play a significant part on Emma's redemption.

The early episodes of "Once Upon A Time" season 5 will see the rescue mission for Emma based on previous reports. The Charmings, Hook, Regina, and Emma's son, Henry, will join forces to locate Merlin, a powerful wizard who holds the key for darkness to be defeated.

However, according to International Business Times, finding Merlin may not be the only solution for the main issue next season. Henry, played by Jared Gilmore, will reportedly regret breaking the Author's quill last season but will still try his best as the new Author to save her mother, played by Jennifer Morrison. The site wrote that he may find a way to rewrite Emma's fate and eventually save her.

According to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Edward Kitsis revealed that viewers will see Henry more frequently in the new season of the ABC hit series. Seeing him discover his new capabilities as the new Author is one of the things to watch out next season.

New characters are also set to appear in the new season of "Once Upon A Time," which give way for new storylines. "Brave"'s Merida will reportedly have a close connection with Belle, which will definitely be a treat for the fans of the show.

Henry may be very useful during the fifth season of ABC's fantasy series as Emma's fate may depend on him. Being the new Author, Henry could rewrite Emma's destiny to save her from the darkness.

"Once Upon A Time" season 5 airs September 27 on ABC.
