Iggy Azalea received a lot of hate in social media right after she joined Demi Lovato on stage during her performance at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. Azalea also hinted at a new album in a series of tweets reflecting on her past year.
Twitter followers were furious for Azalea joining Lovato onstage during her performance of "Cool For The Summer." So in true shade-throwing form, Twitter spoke out its disenchantment of the Australian rapper taking the stage. According to Celebuzz, one dissatisfied fan wrote, "Leave it to iggy azalea to ruin a good performance #VMAs." Another also commented, "Oh god, and she brought out Iggy? I'm pretty sure Demi killed her career by association. #VMAs.
Earlier in the day, Lovato promised her fans that there will be performers and she delivered the performance with her good friend Iggy Azalea. The Australian performer showed up from underneath the stage to carry out a brand new remix verse. The two friends interacted on stage oozing with sex appeal, but then it turned out that the viewers completely bashed her cameo appearance as mentioned in Latina.
After the Internet world commented on the rapper's cameo, Azalea decided to respond to her Twitter account. She tweeted, " who cares it shows im very relevant in their lives still. im flattered. Hahaha" She also thought that it was funny to see that she's trending worldwide since she only appeared on stage for about 30 seconds. Then, she continued her tweet, stating, "Wait till my new shit drops, its 4 mins long! hahahahahaha...."
The two performers are in fact, real friends as claimed by Dailymail UK. The two girls struck up a close friendship earlier this year, with Iggy revealing that the "Heart Attack" singer will be a bridesmaid at her wedding to NBA star Nick Young. Lovato also claimed that they bonded during a shopping trip at a department store.
On the other hand, just months after Azalea broke the news that she is working on her second album and "started totally new," the artist has also admitted that she's making development on her latest music and that fans can expect the first single by 2016. The "Fancy" singer also revealed on Twitter that she already completed six songs so far for the new album. She said, "Also album update for the fans: Im in the studio as i type this, things are going great & moving along. 6 songs completed on the album."
Although many haters had been bashing Azalea, she seemed to be cool about it as she thought that it makes her still relevant. And after she cancelled her "Great Escape Tour" in May. Her camp just recently promised her fans that there would be "a new tour planned around Iggy's new record set to release in 2016.
