"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 will be returning this month and fans should expect that the upcoming seasons will be featuring more sex and more romance for some of the characters of the show. Accordingly, after Dr. Derek Shepherd died in the season 11 finale, the show will be geared towards a much lighter tone.
The ABC medical drama will reportedly be going back to its roots. According to Variety, the actress playing the role of Dr. Catherina Avery, Debbie Allen, the show will be giving a "new life to sexy over 50." Allen was pertaining to her character's relationship with Dr. Richard Webber, played by James Pickens. Jr. Allen continued that they will have a very hot relationship in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12.
Aside from Dr. Avery and Dr. Webber, who just got married in Season 11, other characters who will neb dating, flirting and screwing around are Alex, played by Justin Chambers, and Jo, played by Camilla Luddington. The two will be living together in their new loft so they will be able to spend more time together. According to Carter Matt, another couple that fans should expect would be linked are Owen, played by Kevin McKidd, and Amelia, played by Caterina Scorsone. The two are yet to explore being friends with benefits.
However, not all relationships in "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 will be rainbows and butterflies as Cali and Arizona will remain friends but will be dating other people, specifically woman. April and Jackson will also still be in a split but viewers will soon know more if the two will still get back together.
As for Grey, she will not be rushing to be in a new romantic relationship, Christian Post reported. According to the article, "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 will be much lighter and that it will center on Meredith's life post the death of her husband.
A source shared, "Grey's Anatomy' is Meredith's story, and now she's finding herself as a single mom ... and in the season, she will discover that she's a single woman ... She's not really thinking about that so much right now, but at some point, she will be because she's so beautiful and attractive and something's bound to happen - there's not a plan in place, but who knows."
Fans of the show will see a lot of relationships getting hot and heavy. However Meredith Grey will remain single for an unknown number of episodes. "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 will be back on September 24.
