"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 is one of the most-awaited shows and the creator of the series, Shonda Rhimes, treated the fans as she revealed some spoilers. Rimes was at the Television Critics Association summer press tour held in Beverly Hills, CA and she revealed that Callie and Arizona will be venturing into more exciting romances.
According to TV Line, Rhimes pointed out that "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 will be much lighter in order to balance the death of Derek, played by Patrick Dempsey. Rhimes shared that Meredith is single and is living the life that she never thought she would be living again. Meredith will be living with her sisters who are dating but she is not interested in that. However, Rhimes revealed that the new character, played by Martin Henderson, will be playing the love interest of Meredith.
Rhimes confirmed that there will be new romances for Callie and Arizona describing that it would be exciting but did not divulge on the details.
In another report by Hollywood Life, the publication shared that ABC President Paul Lee defended the death of Derek from the show as he stands by the decision of Rhimes to kill the character off. He shared, "It was great to see Grey's Anatomy so relevant and taking the national conversation in its 11th season. It was a difficult decision. Patrick obviously has lots of interests outside. He's very big in moto-sport. Shonda decided that was the way to go."
Lee also said that Season 12 will be reinventing itself and praised Rhimes for being a remarkable showrunner. He also gave fans some sort of hope that "Grey's Anatomy" will continue to be a show in ABC for more years to come as reports have surfaced before that the show will be ending after its 12th season, IBTimes reported.
