Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger decided to finally end their two years of marriage. But the separation seemed to be mutual. Lavigne announced the news through a heartfelt Instagram. On the other hand, a source claimed that Kroeger partied at a club a club with another woman before the announcement.
Avril Lavigne broke the news through her Instagram with an emotional message reflecting their married life. "It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today," the singer stated on her Instagram account on September 2. She continued by saying, "Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you for your support."
Despite the unfortunate announcement of their separation, the songstress chose to share a photo from their wedding to announce the news. The photo showed off the couple dancing, and holding hands while looking at each other with huge smiles on their faces, as mentioned by HollywoodLife. The former duo were best buddies before they started dating in 2012. The two got engaged in August of that year, followed by their wedding on July 1, 2013 in France.
Lavigne and Kroeger were said to be living their separate lives since November 2014. But by that time, the couple chose to deny rumors of an impending divorce. Meanwhile, the struggles continued as both of them suffered with medical issues. The 30-year old has been battling against Lyme disease for years. As reported, the Nickelback singer had to cancel his summer tour in June following his was diagnosis of a cyst on his vocal box and he even underwent surgery.
Moreover, before the "Complicated" singer publicized their separation on Wednesday, September 2, her ex- husband was spotted with another woman. According to US Weekly, an eyewitness caught Kroeger partying at club E11EVEN in Miami, Florida, with another woman on August 18.
"Chad came in with a woman and a security guard. He was down in the party pit by the stage, definitely out in clear, plain view - not in the private back VIP areas," a clubgoer confessed of the Nickelback singer. The eyewitness added, "He was saying that there aren't that many places for him to go in Miami, he was happy to be there and be chill. He and the girl had a great time, they were dancing."
Even though the split is no surprise since rumors had been circulating that the couple's marriage was in trouble, many of their fans can't just help but get dismayed by their breakup. The news hit especially hard in the Canadian singer's homeland. Canadian fans even spoke out on social media how they felt towards the separation.
