A movie adaptation of Vertigo's noir crime comic book, 100 Bullets, is in the works under New Line. Mad Max: Fury Road actor Tom Hardy recently signed on to produce the film. Also, reports have surfaced that the actor might star in the film's lead role.

He may not have been able to play as Rick Flagg in Suicide Squad, however, Screen Rant reported that he might have his hands on the lead role of the upcoming movie soon. It centers on Agent Graves, the mysterious man who gives briefcase to seemingly random people that will enable them to change their lives.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the first draft of the screenplay for the film was written by Chris Borelli, and reports suggest that the film will stick close to its source material. The original series was created by writer Brian Azarello, and artist Eduardo Risso.

The series ran from 1999 to 2009 producing 100 issues. Aside from that, one spin off was also created entitled Brother Lono. As reported by Daily Dot, the comic book series was critically acclaimed and even bagged a couple of Eisner Awards.

The story reportedly focuses on Agent Graves who delivers briefcases containing a gun and 100 untraceable bullets to people that giving them the chance to exact revenge against the people who wronged them.

Although at first, it was assumed that the briefcases were delivered to random people, the series' plot eventually thicked and a revelation about ties to an indistinct group called Minutemen eventually unfold.

The members of the Minutemen used to be killing machines who were later brainwashed after the incident in the Atlantic City. The Minutemen are the only people who can save the world from the even shadier group called the Trust.

The plot for the movie adaptation of 100 Bullets is still under wraps, but more details about the upcoming film are expected to be revealed as production progress in the coming months.
