The "Maze Runner" movie director, Wes Ball, has decided to start the preparation for the third part of the movie while the second instalment, "The Scorch Trial", is still waiting for its release few weeks from now.
The third movie which was given the title of "The Death Cure" is now under development as the storyline posted on IMDb goes, "Young hero, Thomas, embarks on a mission to find a cure to a deadly disease known as the "Flare".
During an interview with Collider, Ball talked about making some difference with the latest project.
"This next one will be cool because we're gonna cut maybe a year later," he said. "Yeah, so it'll be cool. Some things have happened off screen, which is gonna make the movie feel even bigger."
When asked about what the third instalment will make it a lot different from the first two movies, Ball simply said it will be "even better and even cooler".
"We're working on the third one right now, working to make it even better and even cooler, and doing the same thing we did on this last one where it's a different movie. It's gonna be a different kind of an engine, a different kind of genre almost and a different sort of color palette and terrain. It's gonna be cool. It's gonna be very, very cool I think."
In an article on Empire, it was mentioned that Wes Ball has chosen Vancouver as the provisional shooting location. He also reiterated that he planned to make the movie in a different shape.
"Probably Vancouver. It's gonna be a very different movie. We're not gonna be in the same kind of setting anymore. We're gonna go a little bit more future, do something a little gritty, a little film noir almost."
As he planned to take a year off, he mentioned that the shooting will start on February following its release after a year.
"We're working on it right now, basically," Ball said on the interview. "And we're actually gonna shoot in February and then release in the next February so it'll be another tight run."
"Maze Runner" was originally a novel written by James Dashner about the struggles of a 16-year old boy who lost his memory waking up in the center of an intricate maze with some other boys.
For the meantime, "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" under 20th Century Fox is showing on September 18, 2015.
