Sadly, there won't be an "Elder Scrolls 6" anytime soon. Reports consistently say that Bethesda Softworks' hands are full with "Fallout 4", which will be coming out in November. The long-awaited sixth installment is predicted to be rolled out in 2018,
Four years have already passed since Bethesda had released the "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." With this, it is clear that fans and players are eagerly waiting for the next installment. Some may already be wondering why there is not so much news about Elder Scrolls 6. Apparently, the studio is setting aside the long-awaited game for another one. Christian Today reports that it is giving its 100% focus to Fallout 4.
"Skyrim" was considered an iconic game as it had created many followers and had made the RPG platform popular. After just 2 days upon launch, 3.4 million copies were already sold, according to a Christian post report. With much hype and sales that the game had experienced, Bethesda might be put in a spot then on how to surpass that feat, thus, putting the "Elder Scrolls 6" on hold.
But seemingly enough, the studio packed up its support two years ago when it was about to work on "Fallout 4". With patches, DLC, and other improvements to meet up once it's rolled out, it will be unlikely that a 2016 release date is feasible for Elder Scrolls 6, according to Vine Report.
Todd Howard, game director, prefers to take time on things about "Elder Scrolls 6", as they do not want to deliver a half-finished product. Pete Hines, VP of Bethesda, again vehemently denied the rumors about 2016 and 2017 release for Elder Scrolls 6. Thus, a 2018 launch would be the earliest conceivable date so far as things and pronouncements are going.
Bethesda may be in a bad light these days, as fans of the Elder Scrolls franchise are scoffing for another installment. But gamers should understand that giving in to the demands might create half-baked results. And half-finished games, most of the time, don't sell; precisely because players would hint right away that the developers did not put their best efforts when they created the game. This may be why Bethesda is bidding its time on making "Elder Scrolls 6". Anyways, there are other Bethesda titles in the offing.
