Latest Updates on Resident Evil: Revelations 2, Reviews, and How It Looks Like on PS Vita

By

Resident Evil had been known as a survival horror pioneer before turning into a more action, suspense-thrilled game in Resident Evil 4. Because of this change in the gameplay, there were fans of the horror genre who have missed playing Resident Evil the way it used to be. To accommodate fans of both horror and action genres, Capcom decided to release a game that is a mixture of both. They came up with Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which went out well and pleased PlayStation 2 players.

The series made its first official release on the PS Vita on August 18, reported Vita Reviews. In last December's PlayStation Experience event, it had been announced that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be brought to PlayStation Vita through the collaboration of Sony and Capcom. Now that it has finally made its way to PS Vita, the core game gets translated into Sony's portable system.

The game was set between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. It revolves around Clare Redfield, who is now the leader of Terra Save, an anti-bio terror group. While welcoming Moira Burton, daughter of Barry Burton, into the company, the company building gets raided. Claire and Moira wakes up later to find themselves trapped on an island, with a mysterious woman known as "The Overseer." The Overseer manipulates them through different areas full of bio-weapons.

In Revelations 2, you play in two different timelines in two campaigns. You will explore the island in every episode as Claire and Moira. Then, you switch to Barry and his companion, Natalia, who will search for Claire and Moira at the island, six months after the incident. The campaigns work well here as one comes up with questions while the other one brings the answers.

The Raid Mode was described as "addictive" and a perfect fit for the PS Vita. According to Push Square, the game looked fine although not as flawless as its new generation counterpart. The lighting was apparently flat, and based on a review made by Pocket Gamer, the frame drops noticeably during some battle sequences.

For those who are playing the game for the first time, getting the Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is worth the try, but for the fans of the game series, it is advisable to stick with the console version instead so as not to be disappointed. Anyone who can look past the issues will have a enjoyable gameplay experience with the modern take on Resident Evil: Revelations 2.
