'The Lost City of Z' will feature Robert Pattinson and Charlie Hunnam as explorers lost in a voyage to discover a mythical city deep in the jungles of Brazil. The two actors are currently filming on-location in Northern Ireland. Principal photography will continue in Colombia beginning September.

According to Belfast Live, the cast and crew of the live-action adaptation of the book by author David Grann arrived in the hundred-year old Methodist College in Belfast to shoot indoor and outdoor scenes. This is reported as the latest location to host nearly 200 staff in the production team as they have already been filming around Northern Ireland in the past few weeks.

Although most of the main star-studded cast were already there, including Pattinson and Hunnam as well as female-lead Sienna Miller, actor-turned-producer Brad Pitt didn't turn up due to other scheduled priorities in Los Angeles.

The next shooting location for the months September through October will be in Colombia, according to Variety. It was reported that 'The Lost City of Z' will be based on the non-fiction biographical book of a British officer and explorer who sets out on an expedition with his son and another companion to a mythical Amazonian city where they are lost forever. In the book, the author David Grann sought to debunk the mystery of the explorers' death and the truth behind the lost city.

It was reported by Movie News Guide that Hunnam will star as the main protagonist Col. Percy Fawcett. Pattinson will play his companion Corporal Henry Costin while Miller will be Hunnam's on-screen wife Nina. Young rising star Tom Holland is reported to play Hunnam and Miller's on-screen son, Jack.

'The Lost City of Z' is an upcoming film directed and written for the big-screen by James Gray. It is set to be released sometime in 2016 although the actual date remains unconfirmed.
