'Captain America: Civil War' reveals the heroes of team Captain America and those in team Iron Man. Emily VanCamp's Peggy Carter a.k.a. Agent 13 is speculated to play a very important role within Captain America's resistance group.
An article by Mirror reported that VanCamp's superspy Sharon Carter/Agent 13 will have a significant part to play beside Captain America. Although her character remained out of the spotlight in the last 'Winter Soldier' film, her intelligence and considerable skills will be put to good use as she fights alongside the titular superhero. In the comic books, Agent 13 was the younger sister of Steve Rogers' first love Peggy Carter but in the films, she is portrayed as Carter's niece and potentially, Rogers' other love interest.
According to IGN, actor Jeremy Renner who plays Hawkeye in Marvel's extended universe tweeted out some promotional art from the upcoming film that hinted at which characters would comprise the opposing teams that would go against each other. It was reported that the main plot would be loosely based from the original comic book series. The clashing teams of Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and Chris Evans' Captain America will meet head on because of contrasting principles towards the Superhuman Registration Act, the former being for it while the latter against it.
The team members speculated for each was broken down by an article by Digital Spy. Team Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America opposes the new government policy and includes Renner's Hawkeye, Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier, Will Smith's Falcon, Emily VanCamp's Agent 13 and Paul Rudd's Ant-Man. Team Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man supports the policy and includes Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, Paul Bettany's Vision, Don Cheadle's War Machine and Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther. It remains unclear where the allegiance of the remaining two Avengers Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch and Tom Holland's Spider-Man lie in 'Captain America: Civil War'.
'Captain America: Civil War' is the thirteenth installment in the MCU and the first film in its Phase Three. It is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and written for the big screen by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It is set to be released on May 6, 2016.
