Lenovo showed off three new multimedia Yoga Tab 3 Android tablets with built-in 70-inch projector in the IFA 2015 trade show in Berlin. The triad consists of the latest Yoga Tab 3 Pro and the more affordable Yoga Tab 3 8-inch and 10-inch duo.
In its product video, the Chinese company positions the Yoga Tab 3 Pro, the most high-end tablet among the triad, as the world's first multimedia tablet perfect for entertainment purposes. Compared with its forerunner which has a 50-inch projector, the Yoga Tab 3 Pro has an upgraded pico-unit 70-inch built-in projector for easy content-sharing with family and friends.
According to Digital Spy, the device sports its notable rotating hinge or barrel design which functions as a holder or a flip stand. Lenovo's Yoga Tab 3 Pro comes with a 10.1 inch Quad HD display with touchscreen, as compared with Tab 2 Pro's 13-inch screen. It also has a 13 MP camera at the back and a 5 MP selfie snapper at the front.
GSMArena details the Yoga Tab 3 Pro's under the hood components in its report. Powered by the Quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor, the new tablet comes with 2 GB RAM and 32/64 GB memory. It is designed to maintain 18+ hours of battery life with its 10,200 mAh battery.
Four JBL speakers gracing the front of the Yoga Tab 3 Pro give a powerful Dolby Atmos 3D audio experience. In terms of connectivity, the tablet provides 3G and LTE network support options for the user. The Yoga Tab 3 Pro runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop.
On the other hand, the cheaper Yoga Tab 3 duo are considered as downgraded versions of the Yoga Tab 2 models. According to Softpedia, the 8-inch Yoga Tab 3 features a 6200 mAh battery and a 1280 x 800 display compared with Yoga Tab 2's 1080p resolution. Meanwhile, the 10-inch Yoga Tab 3 has an HD 720p resolution and runs on 8400 mAh battery.
These tablets will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processors, with an 8 MP camera, 16 GB RAM, and 16 GB memory as reported by GSMArena. Other features of the Yoga Tab 3 duo are pretty much the same as that of Yoga Tab 3 Pro, like front speakers, Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, 3G, and LTE connectivity.
Lenovo celebrates its Yoga Tab 3 Pro as the ultimate entertainment video tablet with built-in projector. As said in the product's promotional video, "It's weird but #goodweird." Additionally, General Manager and Vice President Jeff Meredith of Lenovo says, "We are giving them flexibility to access their on-demand content anytime and anywhere, without being tethered to their couch."
It has been reported that the 8-inch tablet will be sold at $169 in October followed by the 10-inch in November at the price of $199. The Tab 3 duo is $70-$100 lesser than the price of the Tab 2 models, offering customers a cheaper variant.
