As the fans await the release of two Star Wars films until 2016, another Star Wars film is under development. Alongside the news is the revelation of a new star that will be joining the Star Wars episode 8. Latest report also named the three females that said to be fighting for the Leading Lady role.
The award-winning actor, Benicio Del Toro, revealed that he will be playing a villain role in the film. Last August, the rumors started circulating leaving the fans with their queries. But recently, Del Toro confirmed the speculations in an interview, according to starwars7news.
"Star Wars is coming up; we will see how that turns out. I think we start shooting in March. I'm like the villain, but we'll see," he said.
Cinemablend pointed out reasons why Del Toro's statement shows so much importance to the fans. First, Star Wars Episode VIII will be much more exciting with the presence of a villain force especially that Del Toro is fitted for the role. However, on a second thought, it is not yet sure. It is better to leave it that way and wait if Adam Driver's Kylo Ren will still be included in the frame.
According to sources, it was a great decision to include Benicio Del Toro in the episode 8. Simply, he is a great talent who has the intensity to be on the loose.
As the Star Wars episode 8 slowly fills in the puzzle pieces, the search for a new leading lady is still in the market. The Wrap reported that there are three stunning ladies who can possibly be the one to suffice the missing role.
Gina Rodriguez, a Golden Globe awardee, is known best on her role as Jane Villanueva in the TV Series "Jane the Virgin." Tatinan Maslany, a Golden Globe nominee, is currently the lead actress for the "Orphan Black" series. Lastly, Olivia Cooke is the female lead in the movie "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl."
"Star Wars" episode 8 will be under the direction of Rian Johnson. So far, the movie has not yet released any announcement but, probably, unanswered uncertainties will be cleared off in the following months. Besides, the film will be released in 2017, still two years from now.
