Michael Fassbender's spot-on portrayal of Steve Jobs in the latest biographical film of Apple's founder has been receiving praises and recognitions and one of which is from Steve Wozniak.
Apple mastermind and co-founder Wozniak has given Fassbender a pat on the back for a job well done in his portrayal of Jobs. In a People article, Wozniak says that despite Fassbender and Jobs lack of similarities on looks and sound, his portrayal of the late icon in the "Steve Jobs" biopic is spot-on. "I saw a rough cut and I felt like I was actually watching Steve Jobs and the others," Wozniak said. He also commends Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin for doing a great job for getting the movie in tune.
Debuting at the 42nd Telluride Film Festival, Universal's "Steve Jobs" is one of the most anticipated World Premieres. In a speech Danny Boyle told the Telluride Film Festival crowd to not anticipate a representational biopic. He said that "Steve Jobs" is meant to be a direct signal from inside the mind of Apple's co-founder, with all of its wonders and all of its horrors.
Steve Jobs is a enthralling story well told by director Danny Boyle and writer Aaron Sorkin, who was also responsible for Oscar-winning piece "The Social Network" screenplay. Boyle said the script is 200 pages and it is densely filled with the kind of dialogue only Sorkin seems to specialize in these days.
The Telluride Film Festival pass holders responded warmly to the film. Reviews on the film and most especially to Fassbender's performance are all good-to-excellent. In a Variety review, Fassbender was mentioned to be a top contender for Oscar's Best Actor race. Kate Winslet as his trusted confidante and associate, Jeff Daniels, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak are also standouts.
"Steve Jobs" is set for release by Universal Pictures on October 9 after another premiere at the New York Film Festival.
