Last year, Marvel has officially announced that the studio is progressing for the development of the "Captain Marvel" film. With so much plans set in their tables, the development of the future movie is not far from possible.
But while the release date is still a long way ahead, it is surely one of the most anticipated films in the next few years. What makes it more exciting is the casting process but at this point, it seemed like the procedure is taking its time. But, this doesn't mean that there are no actors taking the offer to play a role in the project.
In fact, there are many rumors coming out in regards with the actresses who are openly talking about their interest in playing a role in the movie. Cinemablend listed some names of the actresses who have mentioned joining the "Captain Marvel" project. In the list includes the names of Katheryn Winnick, who has posted a fan photo with her Captain Marvel costume, Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Katee Sackhoff, and Shailene Woodley.
Recently, another name was added in the rumor mill. Heroic Hollywood reported that Rebecca Ferguson, co-star of Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible -Rogue Nation, is rumored to be taking the center stage for the film. Well, it doesn't seem impossible because she has shown the potential and might as a British agent in her latest successful movie.
Slash Film confirmed that Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Megan LeFauve (Inside Out) will be penning the draft for the Marvel's 20th film. However, there are questions arising if Carol Danvers will be featured in any film before her main character flies in her standalone film. And according to the article, Danvers might have her first appearance in "Black Panther".
Captain Marvel actually belongs to an intriguing section in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's not only because she will be the first female superhero among the women of Marvel to have her own movie but also the main lead is one of the few who have connections on Earth and beyond the universe. Aside from that, Captain Marvel has fought against The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
With a release date scheduled in 2018, it may still be a while before Marvel Studios officially finds the director who will take hold of their Captain Marvel movie. Sources also mentioned that Angelina Jolie will be working for the filmmaking. If this happens, "Captain Marvel" will be her first enormous blockbuster project.
