The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part 1 and 2 New Titles Revealed; Theo James, Shailene Woodley Address Dating Rumors

By

New titles have been recently given to the films The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part 1 and 2 while book series' author Veronica Roth revealed her thoughts about the upcoming films. Also, franchise leads Shailene Woodley and Theo James finally addressed the dating rumors about them.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, new titles have been given to the last films in the franchise, which were formerly called The Divergent Series: Allegiant - Part 1 and Part 2. The films will now be called The Divergent Series: Allegiant, and The Divergent Series: Ascendant respectively.

New taglines were also given for the films. For 'Allegiant' the tagline is "Break the boundaries of your world", while for 'Ascendant', the more mystifying tagline "The end is never what you expect" was given. Both films will be movie adaptations of Veronica Roth's final book in the trilogy, "Allegiant".

According to E Online, Roth addressed the changes in the film's title via tumblr. "What does this mean? Well, basically, it means there are going to be some changes, but it's really too early to know exactly what those changes will be or the extent of them. I know changes always make fans of the books - and the author! - nervous, but hopefully the characters we know (and love. Or sometimes love to hate?) will still be intact, which is really the important thing. I am eager to see how these movies turn out, along with you guys", Roth wrote on her post.

Theo James and Shailene Woodley are set to reprise their roles as franchise leads, Four Eaton and Tris Prior, respectively. James and Woodley have been doing a great job at playing their roles, and with their undeniable chemistry on screen, it is understandable that dating rumors have been revolving around them.

However, according to a report by Movie News Guide, James and Woodley finally sealed everything confirming that they are simply friends. "No we're not dating", Woodley said while James agreed with her statement.

When the suggestion came up that the chemistry evident on screen must be caused by their real life friendship, James quickly agreed. Moreover, Woodley added humor to the situation saying, "We're good professionals. I'm just kidding! We get along great,".

The Divergent Series: Allegiant is directed by Robert Schwentke, from the screenplay written by Noah Oppenheim, Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, and Stephen Chbosky. Look for it in theaters on March 18, 2016.
