Though most would say being famous is one of the best things that could happen to them, in the case of actor Robert Pattinson, it's not. After constantly being in the spotlight since his rise to fame in the "Twilight" series, Pattinson admits he feels like a fraud as he opened up in an interview regarding the "darkness" of being famous.
According to Eonline, though there are a lot of positive reasons why being famous is all good and amazing, 28-year-old actor, Robert Pattinson disagrees on the supposed "advantages" one gets when being in the spotlight.
After recently opening up in an interview with The Observer, the "Twilight" hunk explained how being a celebrity has its dark sides, and why he feels he is a fraud. From having his relationship with co-star and now ex-girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, ruined by media reports, to having his current girlfriend, FKA Twigs, constantly bashed with insulting racist comments and hate, Robert has had it up to his ears with the media and the so called "privileges" of being an actor.
In a report from Inquisitr, Pattinson explained how fame has affected his family, especially his sisters. According to the interview, he constantly apologies to his two sisters that have been wound up in the celebrity craze.
"With my sisters, you just bring people into something they have not asked to be a part of," the actor revealed, "It's impossible for you to stop it afterwards." Pattinson then further explains, "All you can say is: 'I'm sorry. I'm sorry for bringing this darkness into your life. And also you don't get anything out of it, either.' It's just nothing but bad, yeah."
When asked about his relationship with FKA Twigs and the constant ongoing rumours that surround the couple, the actor refused to say anything. He believes that being silent, and not talking, is the best way.
In another report from College Candy, the actor also explained why he felt like a fraud. Apparently, Robert feels he's undeserving of his success, stating, "I'm quite proud that I'm still getting jobs. To go from starting a job by accident when you're 16 and maintaining it somehow... Because of falling into a job, you always feel like you're a fraud that you're going to be thrown out at any second."
With the rough patches Robert Pattinson has dealt with over the last few years, one can't blame the actor on how he feels, and handles the stardom. Despite being one of the most famous actors of his generation, Pattinson believes that though his job has its advantages, the other side of it isn't at all as bright and wonderful as one may think.
