With NBA 2K16's release this month, 2K Sports sure is heightening the momentum, as new and returning features are added up into the game. MyCareer Mode returns, and will be written and directed by the famous filmmaker Spike Lee. Classic teams are slowly being unveiled, while best teams squeeze in to make this installment the best basketball game ever.
Introduced two years ago in the "NBA 2K" series, MyCareer Mode came as a narrative experience wherein gamers were instructed through the courses of a pre-arranged storyline, according to Sporting News. The essence was to play the game in-between the given events - leaving little or no effort to veer away from the story.
But "NBA 2K16" seem to have topped the notch further as it brings in Spike Lee to write and direct MyCareer Mode with an apt title "Livin' Da Dream". Players will take the role of Frequency Vibrations, starting out in high school and will proceed to college. The story will progress based on the decisions the players make for the character. "NBA 2K16" will be featuring at least 10 licensed universities for the player to choose from. But the extent to which these college teams will be used up in the game is still unsure of - whether these will have a playable element or they will just be integrated into the setting.
Classic teams for the "NBA 2K16" were slowly rolled out for a month now, and just last week, Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers were placed as the two final teams to complete the classic lineup, as mentioned in Tech Times. Other spectacular teams in this retro rank are: 2002-03 Dallas Mavericks, 1999-2000 Portland Trail Blazers, 2004-05 Phoenix Suns, 2005-06 Miami Heat, 2000-01 Los Angeles Lakers, 2003-04 Detroit Pistsons, 2007-08 Boston Celtics and 2012-13 Heat. Five of those teams were crowned NBA champions: the 2001 Lakers, 2004 Pistons, 2006 Heat, 2008 Celtics and 2013 Heat.
In the meantime, here are some of the teams that may be mobbed by users once "NBA 2K16" is launched, according to Bleacher Report news.
Memphis Grizzlies - the team is led by Mike Conley on the perimeter and Marc Gasol in the paint, the Grizzlies' defense is pure tough. Excellent at locking down opponents, many players will pick this team up for head-to-head matchups in "NBA 2K16".
Cleveland Cavaliers - need it be said that LeBron James is in the team and is the best player in the world. He is still a monster in "NBA 2K16", and his presence alone in this game and in the Cavs will perhaps be the only reason players will select this squad. Point guard Kyrie Irving and power forward Kevin Love will be the Big Three to watch out for.
Golden State Warriors - it is a given that whatever team wins an NBA championship, that squad will surely be flocked with players. The three-point shots of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson is also an undeniable factor. But the more adept users will not probably rush into using the Splash Brothers into the game.
Oklahoma City Thunders - Russell Westbrook is the single equivalent of the Warriors for being the choice for newcomers. Insanely quick, players will have a piece of cake experience when dashing into the rim. But "NBA 2K16" is still hard to dominate. Defensive AI is a notable route, and it doesn't wait until players already have 30 points to get accustomed to their strategies. Westbrook and Kevin Durant would be the dynamic duo to beat. With Serge Ibaka as a rim protector and rebounder down low, the Thunders will no doubt be a prominent choice online.
This array of developments may prove that "NBA 2K16" will be the best installment yet from 2K Sports. The 17th installment in the "NBA 2K" franchise is set to be released on September 29. Those who pre-order will receive the basketball sim game 4 days earlier than its release and will receive several in-game bonuses. Those who will purchase the special edition will receive the Michael Jordan cover, several physical items, and many in-game bonuses.
