Jamie Foxx Will Be Playing The Baddie Opposite Ansel Elgort In Edgar Wright's "Baby Driver"

Jamie Foxx is in the talks of joining "The Fault In Our Stars" actor Ansel Elgort in Edgar Wright's latest project "Baby Driver."

The "Ray" star and Oscar winner will reportedly grace Wright's project, described as "the ultimate rock-and-roll car chase film." He will be co-starring young actors Elgort and "Cinderella's" Lily James. The production is mum about Foxx's role but rumor says that he will play the crime boss who coerces a talented driver into working for him.

"Baby Driver" features Elgort as a young, mute but talented getaway driver who uses his own personal library of music to get him through tricky jobs. He finds his world shaken when a dicey heist puts everything he knows and loves at risk. James will play as his love interest in the movie.

After leaving from Marvel's "Ant-Man," cult-favorite director Wright revisited his old unrealized project and it turned out to be "Baby Driver." He has written and will be directing the film alongside Working Title co-chiefs Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan who has been his longtime collaborators. Wright is producing along with Nira Park through her Big Talk Productions. MRC and TriStar are co-financing the film, with TriStar handling worldwide distribution.

If all goes according to plan, "Annie" star Foxx may take on the role of the film's big bad. This wouldn't be the first time Foxx has played a bad guy. He has recently plated "Electro" in the ill-fated comic book spectacle "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." The role in "Baby Driver" is being described as a capricious crime boss who makes Elgort's character's life a bit more difficult.

Foxx is currently filming the action thriller "Sleepless Night" where he plays as a policeman searching for his kidnapped son. The film is based on the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche.

The production is expected to start later this year and it is currently scheduled for release on March 17, 2017.
