"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trial" Updates: Fans Can Expect A Darker Film Than The First Maze Runner Movie; Thomas Will Discover He Is Valuable

By

"The Maze Runner" series' second book is darker and that will be well represented in the upcoming film version, "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials."

According to James Dashner, writer of the best-selling book series "The Maze Runner," the movie goers and passionate book fans alike can expect an even darker, more intense film than the first as the book itself was the same. However, there's a little bit more of an increase in changes between book and movie as some of the changes made in the first one had ripple effects that affected the second book.

One major effect involves Thomas and Teresa's communication, played by Dylan O'Brien and Kaya Scodelario respectively. They are no longer capable of communicating through telepathy. In spite of this, Dashner still think that it captures the spirit of what happens in the book and he believes that people will be happy with it.

The young adult dystopian series "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials," has a brand new promotional clip, and it shows new and interesting characters. Two of them are Jorge, played by Giancarlo Esposito and Brenda, played by Rosa Salazar. Whether they are friends or enemies to the Gladers is yet to be discovered at the release of the movie. In the clip, Thomas discerns that he is valuable as someone who came from WCKD; which is the root cause of how the Gladers came to be.

"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" starts where last year's first film "The Maze Runner" concluded. Led by Thomas, the Gladers will encounter their greatest challenges in an open, barren environment searching for clues against the powerful WCKD.

Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Ki Hong Lee will be reprising their roles from the first film along with O'Brien and Scodelario. Lee and Brodie-Sangster has visited South Korea for the premier of "The Scortch Trial" at the Megabox COEX Cinema in Seoul, South Korea on September 2.

"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" has a UK release date of September 10, and a US release following on September 18. The third and final installment of the series, "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is set to be released in February, 2017 with Wes Ball attached to direct.
