Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has a heap of expectation upon itself as other games are currently chasing the standard of first-person shooters. But with the said success of the previous franchise, a heavily bestowed label was just given to the game that could affect the game's future.
According to Gaming Bolt, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has been rated R18+ in Australia. Compared to the other games in the series, this could perhaps be the most violent expansion ever in Call of Duty history. Safe to say, this is one factor that could virtually be crucial to the game's future well-being.
As reported by Latin Post, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has been officially rated by the Australian Classification Board which was seen on their official website. It was a justified rating for the said title given that the past Call of Duty games were only labelled as MA15+ in the Australian district.
Yibada reports that spectators of the game and other consumers state that the game apparently has high-impact violence and online interactivity. Moreover, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 contains a significant amount of profound language, some hints of sex, little portions of drug use, but does not contain nudity within its entirety.
The previous expansions of the game are recognizable to have amounts of gore and brutality, which may come naturally for almost any first-person shooters. However, many gamers were intrigued to see that high-impact violence is already part of the system. Having said this, speculations have already risen that perhaps Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be dubbed the same rating of R18+ in New Zealand, to name one.
Conventional games that receive a rating above MA15+ is meant to be cancelled soon enough or banned in some areas, as Mortal Kombat was prohibited in Australia. Painfully, this is the first time that the Call of Duty series is to receive a rating of such, but does not stop the fact that the game will still happen.
As the ESRB and PEGI may still give further reaction to the future of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, it is confirmed to launch on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One on November 6th.
