"Dark Souls III" will be released in the West and in Europe in April 2016. This was announced by Bandai Namco during the Tokyo Games Show 2015. But Japan will have the game first in March.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America, the publisher of "Dark Souls III", has announced its release date for North and South America in April 2016, according to Gamespot. The action role-playing game will come to Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam). Japan has a scheduled launch on March 24, just a few days or weeks before it leaps to the West next. A "specially designed map" and soundtrack will be in the game's Japanese retail version. Meanwhile, From Software recently announced that they will commence a network test for "Dark Souls III's" PS4 edition on October 16-18. Players can now sign up at the news source's website until October 4.

On the other hand, PC Gamer mentioned that the announcement made by Bandai Namco during the Tokyo Games Show seemed a little confusing. While the publisher of "Dark Souls III" provided a release date for both territories, it said that the Japanese 24 release date does not apply to PC in that region. The game's website simply furnished that this will be announced "at a later date." It's also not known yet if this applies to the Western PC release as well.

A "Dark Souls III" trailer paved the way for the official announcement of its release date in March 2016 for Japan. This happened during Sony's Tokyo Games Show on September 15, reported VG 24/7. Although the less-than-a-minute trailer did not provide anything big and new, what was rather significant was the first appearance of the "Dark Souls III's" Magic Weapon and Lighting Spear spells.

"Dark Souls III" is Hidetaka Miyazaki's comeback project for the series. But according to the director, the gameplay of this fourth entry will closely follow from "Dark Souls II". The game is set on a third-person perspective but will also feature multiplayer elements.
