Some fans of the Duggar family demand explanation if the clan is still doing their mission in helping the poor in Central America. Jill and Derick solicit donations for their organization named Dillard Family Ministries.
The criticism started after Jill, 24, and Derick, 26, have traveled twice back to the States since they left for missionary work. ET Online reported that the couple were present at the wedding of their cousin Amy Duggar held in Bentonville, Arkansas. They also attended the wedding of Michaela Bates and Brandon Keilen from Bringing Up Bates on August 15 which took place in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The fans' suspicions got even worse in a picture posted in Instagram with the caption "Traveling." The photo was taken in Israel where the couple brought their five-year old son. Some supporters of the Duggar family quickly noticed of their vacation from supposedly missionary work. Since then, the followers posted angry comments all over the social media questioning about the Duggars way of spending their donated cash.
One Facebook comments says: "So what exactly are you doing to help people in El Salvador? Your donors would like a detailed statement of what their money is being used for. As far as I can see, all you guys are doing is going to Spanish class and making fun of the locals. Oh, I forgot. You also did that stupid interpretive dance thing. Have you done anything worthwhile to actually help people, or are you just there to convert Catholics?"
Jill responded by posting a picture in Instagram showing the people that she met during their mission. "My heart aches for the hardships these people are facing daily due to pressure and violence from the gangs. Please pray for their safety!" she wrote. "We look forward to returning there to continue ministering after language school!"
Derick on the other hand, updated their family blog. "Jill, Israel, and I recently arrived back in the States for a planned, month long trip to take care of some things and enjoy time with family and friends while we're here, before heading back to Central America."
While it is good for the Duggar's fans to donate without expecting something in return, the majority believes it would be nicer if they see some worthwhile results out of their financial assistance.
Are you convinced with Jill and Derick's explanation regarding the donations? Do you want to see more pictures of hospitals, schools, and other places where they do missionary works from their organization?
