Jason Momoa is DC Cinematic Universe's Aquaman and according to the actor, the titular character is no longer to be ridiculed after the movie's release. He further revealed that he will neither be the nice guy kind of superhero or will he be destroying villages in the upcoming movie.
Momoa recently shared his thoughts about the upcoming big screen take of the classic King of the Atlantis, and as reported by Inquisitr, the Game of Thrones actor said that jokes about Aquaman must be held up until the movie is released.
"It's cute and funny. People make fun of him. There's a bunch of jokes about him, but I'm like, 'Just wait. Let's just wait a little bit, and then you can make jokes'", Momoa said. Also, he explained that the titular hero's back story will be one of the things to be explored in the upcoming film and will be comprised of "lots of surprises".
Momoa also added that director Zack Snyder has created a character that is different from the character in the comics. "We don't want to just reinvent it, but [Zack Snyder has] got a whole idea of what Aquaman should be and I'm really honored to be playing it", Momoa said. "I'm excited for the world to see it", he added.
As cited in the previous report, Momoa revealed that Aquaman will no longer be the friendly kind who throws a lot of jokes, but also stressed that he will also not wreck houses and destroy villages in the upcoming film.
Aquaman's first expected appearance will be in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, as reported by Movie Pilot, Momoa also confirmed that he appear in Justice League Part One, which will build the events towards his solo film.
The Aquaman stand alone film is set to directed by James Wan, screenplay by Kurt Johnstad, and it will be produced by Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, and Zack Snyder. Look for it in theaters in July 27, 2018.
