Super model Gisele Bündchen continued to out-earn every supermodel in the fashion world this year as she was recently hailed as the highest-paid model. This is the 9th year she bagged the position in the category. Joining her in the highest-paid model list is the first timer Kendall Jenner.
According to E! News, Forbes just recently ranked the highest-earning models for the year 2015. But, it's no surprise that the runway veteran, Gisele Bündchen, still topped the list for the ninth consecutive time. The Brazilian beauty's accumulated earnings from her modelling career gathered $44 million this year.
In exchange for her catwalk, Bündchen consistently booked major fashion campaigns for well- known designers, including Chanel, Stuart Weitzman and Louis Vuitton. And as mentioned by Forbes, the former Victoria's Secret model has garnered over $430 million ever since the beginning of her major modeling career. With that, the model ultimately out-earned her husband, New England Patriots' quarterback, Tom Brady.
The supermodels next to her rank aren't even making half as much as of the veteran model. Cara Delevingne claimed the second spot, but she only pulled in $9 million for her work on the runway as well as on the big screen. Alongside the "Paper Towns" actress on the number two spot is Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima, who also earned $9 million.
Third and fourth places are taken by Dutch model Doutzen Kroes and Russian mother-of-four Natalia Vodianova with $7.5 million and $7 million respectively. Miranda Kerr and Joan Smalls take the number five spot with $5.5 million, while Taylor Swift's friend Karlie Kloss tied with Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio and Lara Stone at number six, all grossing $5 million.
Meanwhile, Delevigne's friend, Kendall Jenner made it on the Forbes highest- paid models list for the very first time. Claiming the eighth spot, the model slash "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star grossed $4 million. In just a year in the fashion industry, the 19-year old model has already booked campaigns for brands Balmain, Fendi, Calvin Klein, Givenchy, as reported by Telegraph UK. She also got a contract with Estee Lauder.
Just this April, Bundchen announced that she was quitting modeling in a statement on her Instagram page, "I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business." Explaining why she has to give up the profession, she claimed that her body already told her that her career is already worth it and that she needs to stop. And for that, she respects what her body's telling her.
Meanwhile, fashion enthusiasts, especially Bundchen's fans are very elated by the news of her topping the Forbes list. But then, in the future, many questions whether she would still be the highest-paid model of the world knowing that a lot of new faces just like Cara Delevigne and Kendall Jenner are competing with her.
