Time Warner Inc.'s third person vehicular action game faces a problem as it is infected with a mission bug which causes players to return from scratch and start all over again. The game becomes more thrilling as a player progresses, but may ironically be risky as well in a specific stage of the gameplay.
Despite its exhilarating missions which would involve a player to chase down convoys, disable opposing cars and hijack the lead vehicle, Mad Max displays the usual problems encountered in open-world games which require lots of skill and focus until one finds himself being rewarded with a bunch of spare metal. However, there are still those high-octane moments wherein a player blazes through the desert dunes while lighting strikes and enemy vehicles spit fire, as reviewed by Telegram. But what appals thousands of players is the bug that lots of players claim to encounter in one of its missions.
Bidness Etc. discussed that the bug is in the game's The Wasteland Classic mission wherein the Archangel Vehicle needs to be upgraded as the main objective game is to modify the vehicle by unlocking necessary parts and installing such into the transport. Though some players may have played uninterrupted and smoothly, many players encountered a problem finishing such mission. This made the game's official website swarmed with rants and complaints regarding the bug.
Amidst the complaints, others have been suggesting that fellow players uninstall all of the car parts while others suggest beating a certain outpost. Some even suggest to find Chum, the sidekick mechanic, who may be a key to installing required car parts to accomplish the mission. However, since he is outside the outpost, players have to leave the area and by doing such, mission will be interrupted and players will have to restart the whole mission.
For clarity, the game itself does not instantly nor automatically restart a player's gameplay. Instead, a certain mission in the game may necessitate players to end up restarting the game and losing all of their progress in order to accomplish the Wasteland Classic mission. Gamers, reviewers and critics in the Steam community rants that the game would impliedly oblige a player to remove whatever accessory they have obtained and conform to the parts that the game wants. Others commented that the company may not have bug-tested the game at all.
Notwithstanding the contagious disappointment in the gaming community, a few players have reported that they have been successful in accomplishing the Wasteland mission without having to lose their progress.
