'Lego Dimensions' Launch Trailer Boasts Mash-Up of Characters from Famous Film, TV, Game Franchises; 14 Brands in One Game

A launch trailer for "Lego Dimensions" was released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, adding hype to its most awaited toys-to-life game that is scheduled to come out on September 27. The apt-titled Endless Awesome trailer highlights the mash-up of characters from film, TV, and other franchises; and of course the gameplay. It is slated to be rolled out for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and Wii U.

According to Mirror, the "Lego Dimensions" seem to vying also for the top spot in the toys-to-life category along with "Disney Infinity" and "Skylanders", as it blends in 14 various brands in one video-game experience. With the Starter Pack, families can enter into all the different franchise worlds without additional purchases. "Doctor Who", "Back to the Future", "Wizard of Oz", "Scooby Doo", "The Ghostbusters" are just a handful of the many offerings in "Lego Dimensions".

To play any of the characters, some additional Lego sets are needed to be purchased. With each character acquired, players can unlock an open world to have an adventure in. This is the point and area wherein players usually spend a lot of time in hunting for important Red and Gold Lego bricks.

"Lego Dimensions" presents a mash-up of characters which came from film, TV, and gaming's classic franchises, and of course, the famous voices which give life to them, as reported in Entertainment Weekly. The game's launch trailer boasts of a star-studded voice cast, which includes Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, and Troy Baker as Batman. Other noticeable names are Michael J. Fox coming back as Marty McFly, Alison Brie as UniKitty, Elizabeth Banks as Wyldstyle, and Chris Pratt pulling double duty as both Emmett from "The Lego Movie" and Owen Grady from "Jurassic World". The evil Lord Voltech will be played by Gary Oldman; and many others which are listed in the trailer.

Besides showcasing popular talents and voices, the "Lego Dimensions" launch trailer inevitably demonstrated how the game is played as well, as mentioned in a Tech Times report. The game's versatility and interactivity was further highlighted, as each character can be played in every level or world. A player/character can also use any tool or vehicle which they can take with them on any challenge.

The game will feature characters and worlds from 14 different franchises, including "The Lego Movie", "Lego Ninjago", "Lego Chima", DC Comics, "The Lord of the Rings", "The Wizard of Oz", "The Simpsons", "Doctor Who", "Back to the Future", "Portal 2", "The Ghostbusters", "Midway Arcade", Scooby Doo", and "Jurassic World". More franchises are planned to be added after launch, but are not disclosed yet by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
