The much-awaited Marvel film 'Deadpool,' which is five months away from release, already has a rough cut and executive producer Simon Kinberg says it's fantastic. However, it looks like the studio is already gearing towards a sequel.
The first footage of the film, starring Ryan Reynolds, brought excitement among Comic-Con audiences earlier this year. Meanwhile, the rest of the world reacted positively upon the official debut of the trailer last August.
'Deadpool' surely has a lot of hype to live up to, but Kinberg assured the fans that the movie will deliver everything that the trailer promised.
"I have seen a rough cut of Deadpool and it's fantastic," he told Collider. "We really committed and leaned into it being R-rated. It's just darker and edgier and weirder in the best way-like Deadpool should be-than any other movie in the genre."
And to add to the hype train, Fox executives feel secure of the success of the film that they've started gearing towards a sequel, as reported by The Cheat Sheet. Kinberg reportedly said, "We were talking about the sequel while we were making the movie, just because when you make a film like this that's from a serialized source material, you hope that it's the first of many, and we still hope that."
The 42-year-old executive producer surely has high confidence in 'Deadpool' as well as its box official potential, given that the "Merc with a Mouth" has a huge following. But despite the fact that they still have a lot to do on the film, they're certainly feeling good about it.
In related news, Ecumenical News reported that the feel and focus of the film will not deviate from the feel of the "Red Band" trailer, which is action-packed and of course, funny. 'Deadpool' will hit theaters on February 12, 2016 is expected to be edgy, dark and R-rated.
With the rough cut being fantastic, as what executive producer Kinberg claimed, there's every reason to be excited for 'Deadpool.' It holds true, especially that the studio execs are already gearing towards a sequel.
