"Avatar 2" is said to bring in Michelle Rodriguez as part of the cast but Rodriguez herself confirms that it is not true. With that out of the way, James Cameron says that he wants fans and moviegoers to enjoy the movie in the most interactive way possible. Thus, the release date was moved back another year to achieve such. Produced by 20th Century Fox the film is set to be shown on December 2017.
Master Herald reports that Michelle Rodriguez herself confirmed she will not be appearing in "Avatar 2." Rodriguez was attending the Gabriela Cadena fashion show when she cleared the air of her joining the sequel. She adds that Director James Cameron didn't ask her to appear, so she is sure enough that she won't be in it. She shared though that old cast members like Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang and a few others will definitely be back. However, Weaver will play a different role as her previous character was already killed off in the prequel, which Sigourney personally divulged in "The Jonathan Ross Show."
With speculations of Rodriguez joining "Avatar 2" already cleared, James Cameron explains why the release date for the sequel was moved back another year. According to Vine Report, Cameron desires to have moviegoers enjoy the sequel in the most interactive way possible. The critically-acclaimed director wants to employ state-of-the-art technology by shooting through 48 fps or 60 fps. But with the current technology at hand, they had to push the release date back. With a higher frame rate implementation, this will be the first film to use such technology, setting a benchmark for those in the movie industry.
This technology will not be applied in not just one but three of the following sequels, Avatar 3 and 4 with just one year apart for the release dates for each sequel. Aiming for the best and not being pressured about the clamor of fans, Cameron is taking his time in achieving such.
Christian Today shares that the title of "Avatar 2" will be "Manifest Destiny." Speculatively, most of the sequel will cover underwater scenes focusing on the ocean life of Pandora. It might also contain footages from the deepest part of the world's oceans, the Marianas Trench. The film will probably feature a prison theme because of Goksan Ozman's poster release, although Cameron hasn't confirmed it yet.
"Avatar 2" will not be having Michelle Rodriguez back but some of the old cast will be reprising their roles. After all is said and done, fans and moviegoers alike will have to wait until December 2017 to see the works of James Cameron. Hopefully the setback on the release date due to the Cameron's implementation of higher fps will surprise everyone in a good way.
