The "Merc with a Mouth" is set to headline his first feature film, but it turns out he will have Colossus as company. The X-Man, who will reportedly be played by Andre Tricoteux, will be playing big in the upcoming "Deadpool" movie than initially thought.
Comic Book reported that "Deadpool" creator Rob Liefeld answered some fan questions as to how Colossus will be depicted in the movie.
"You are going to love Colossus. He's in it - I hope Fox doesn't get mad at me - he's in it a good amount. He doesn't just walk through the movie."
As for the trailer, only a glimpse of the mutant was seen; thus many would assume that he might only be a fairly minor player in the upcoming film. Liefeld even teased and praised the CG, saying that it was the best character he had ever seen onscreen.
It was previously reported by Cinema Blend that actor Andre Tricoteux has been confirmed to perform the role of the mutant Colossus. It is also worth nothing that Gina Carno herself, who will be playing Angel Dust in "Deadpool," confirmed the actor's inclusion via Twitter: "You're the best #Colossus a person could ask for Andre."
It is believed that the collision will come when Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, makes the acquaintance of Piotr Rasputin a.k.a Colossus. The massive metal mutant has the ability to transform his body into organic steel. As one of the most physically powerful mutants among the X-Men (as was seen in the trailer), the guy is not hostile to tossing Wade Wilson around whenever the mercenary gets a bit lippy.
Screen Rant, on the other hand, reported that if Fox wants to stay competitive with Marvel and DC, the studio should make an effort in giving fan favorites such as Deadpool and Colossus. Exploring such interesting dynamics is likely to be a ticket to new and successful franchises.
Whether Colossus (Andre Tricoteux) will be playing big or not, his addition to the upcoming Marvel film "Deadpool" is certainly something to be stoked for. The Marvel film hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
