Will Turner, played by Orlando Bloom, is back in the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." The fifth movie in the Disney franchise will be as similar as the first film.
The Christian Post reported that there would be several elements from the very first film to be seen in the latest one. This was disclosed by British actress Kaya Scodelario, saying that the creators want to bring back the old "Pirates of the Caribbean" epic journey for the whole storyline.
According to Vine Report, Kaya Scodelario will be playing as Carnina Smyth. Her character, who is described to be an astronomer and scholar, will end up crossing paths with Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow.
Speaking with Digital Spy, the 23-year-old said that her character will be "on her own journey - looking for the Trident of Poseidon." And as she goes along the way, she meets Jack Sparrow and "messes everything up."
The forthcoming movie will basically be following the timeline set by the first film. The production have begun in February this year and ended in July with Disney confirming the release date during the D23 Expo.
Meanwhile, going back to reprise his role as the iconic Will Turner is Orlando Bloom, who will be reuniting with the original cast members after eight years. Disney believes that the franchise has suffered enough fatigue and that the return of Bloom will help rejuvenate everything again.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is said to center around Jack Sparrow's quest for the Trident of Poseidon to control the ocean. The protagonist will reportedly be up against Captain Salazar, the new villain who will be played by Javier Bardem.
The fifth installment, which will be released on July 7, 2017, is being helmed by new directors - namely, Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg. The two Norwegian directors have come from helming indie films.
With the move to create "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" similar to the first film as well as Orlando Bloom's return as Will Turner, the fifth installment is certainly something to look forward to.
