Droid Turbo vs OnePlus 2: Can the 'Flagship Killer' Win Against Motorola?

The OnePlus 2 has been dubbed by its maker as a flagship killer, but will can it stand against the Motorola Droid Turbo?

Physical

One of the biggest factors when choosing a phone is its design. The OnePlus 2 can win this round with its unique textures such as the Sandstone Black and Bamboo. However, the Motorola Droid Turbo has Kevlar backing for a stronger and sturdier casing. If the user wants design, OnePlus 2 definitely wins.

Displays

OnePlus 2 has an up-to-date display screen that would allow users to enjoy movies and games on their phone. The OnePlus 2 has a 5.5-inch FHD screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution with an impressive 401 pixels per inch density. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, according to Tech Gadget Central.

The Motorola Droid Turbo has a smaller 5.2-inch screen but with a much clearer Super AMOLED screen with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It even has a higher 565 ppi pixel density. The difference in size is quite small but the resolution and pixel density certainly lets the Droid Turbo to win this round.

Processor and RAM

The OnePlus 2 still has a decent Qualcomm 64Bit Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at a low 1.8 GHz. However, there are two versions. One is the dual quad-core version coupled with a whopping 4GB of RAM, and the other is just the normal quad core processor but still with an impressive 3GB of RAM.

Looks like Droid Turbo just wins in terms of clock speed. Motorola included a 32Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad core processor clocked at a higher 2.7GHz. It's also coupled with 3GB of RAM, according to Neurogadget.

Camera and Storage

The OnePlus 2 has a measly 13MP rear camera but a higher 5MP selfie snapper. It has both 16GB and 64GB Variants.

Droid Turbo has a higher 21MP main camera but with a lower 2MP front camera. It also has both 32 and 64GB variants.

Battery

Droid Turbo wins with a 3900mAh battery, compared to OnePlus 2's 3300mAH capacity, according to Android Headlines. Motorola's handset will certainly have a longer battery life.

Android Version and Pricing

The OnePlus 2 runs its own Oxygen OS 2.0 which is a modified version of the Android 5.0 Lollipop 5.1. It has a price tag of $329 for the 16GB model and $389 for the 64GB model.

Meanwhile, the Motorola Droid Turbo runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. It is exclusive to Verizon and off-contract costs $480 for the 32GB variant and $528 for the 64GB model. Droid Turbo now has an upgrade for Android 5.1 since July.
