Microsoft has subtly revealed the release date for its upcoming Xbox One Elite Controller as many retailers and even their own online store has put the data at October 27, 2015.
The tech giant announced the controller at this year's E3. There is no official announcement by Microsoft yet, but the retailers and the Microsoft Store has already included the Xbox One Elite Controller release date. All have the same date which means that it is very likely the official one.
Microsoft will apparently launch the controller the same day as the much-anticipated Halo 5: Guardians will be launched. Some may see this as a coincidence, but it could be a bold marketing move by Microsoft.
The company also announced the Elite bundle, which will include an Xbox One console with a 1TB solid state hybrid drive and the Xbox One Elite Controller, according to The Verge. The bundle will be available on November 3 for $499.
What can the Xbox One Elite Controller do for the gamer? For starters, it has a new faceted D-Pad which Microsoft claims can enable a smoother and accurate experience in gaming.
"The new, faceted D-pad enables easier and more reliable combo execution, while the traditional D-pad provides precise control to change weapons or call in a strike," Microsoft wrote in the product description.
In addition, players will also be able to remap the buttons on the device, according to IGN. This means that players can change what each of the buttons do to suit their taste and playing style.
Players will also be able to adjust several parameters for the Xbox One Elite Controller such as the thumbstick sensitivities and the trigger values. It also doesn't hurt that the device looks very nice in black and steel color.
The same release date with Halo 5: Guardians may be part of Microsoft's effort to push the game to be a big hit in the eSports industry, according to Windows Central. Halo 5: Guardians was developed by 343 Industries.
Microsoft's new $199 controller will help players to enjoy Halo 5: Guardians more with the advanced controls and customizability. Xbox One players will also enjoy the new Xbox One Elite Controller with other games.
