The veteran actor Leonardo DiCaprio is set to develop a new TV series for the premium cable network Showtime that is inspired on the mafia in the 1980's. On the other hand, the actor was reportedly spotted biking on the streets of New York with an unknown brunette while his rumored girlfriend is missing in action.
The Hollywood Reporter claimed that DiCaprio and "Ray Donovan" writer Brett Johnson have been thinking to produce a mafia inspired TV series and they pitched the idea for Showtime. The TV network is allegedly planning and preparing for DiCaprio's mafia series.
They are thinking of the idea that the series will be centered at the mafia during the 80's and will also include roles from the FBI and Wall Street. They are planning to add uproars during that era between the three factions, particularly in the Brooklyn heartland that nurtured the ventures.
The series is said to closely track the relationship of the three factions, which included characters functioning externally of their own roles to gain distinction. This will eventually lead to wide-scale corruptions within all three organizations.
It is still unconfirmed if the actor will be portraying the lead role or even other roles in the show. However, Deadline reported that DiCaprio will be executive producing the TV series alongside his production company Appian Way. He will also be joined with Jennifer Davisson.
Previously, DiCaprio also brought to life some gangster roles. He himself is no stranger to any one of those types of characters, having played a character in a couple of Martin Scorsese films, including "The Departed," "Gangs of New York," "Shutter Island" and his recent ganster role on "The Wolf of Wall Street."
On the flip side of the issue, the 40-year-old actor was photographed stepping out with a mystery girl biking around New York City on Tuesday. While the brunette remained anonymous, the Oscar nominee was linked to the most beautiful women in the world, including Gisele Bundchen, Bar Refaeli and Blake Lively to name a few.
And most recently, he was reported heating up a romance with Sports Illustrated model Kelly Rohrbach. According to the Dailymail UK, the new couple was seen attending the U.S. Final Open on Sunday. The pair appeared to be very anxious as they watched the intense tennis match.
Although the two didn't go public about their relationship, they have been spotted a few times now stepping out on different occasions together. Meanwhile, the actor seemed to be shifting his attention to the small screen, he's also keeping himself busy on his movie projects. In fact, his latest film, the adventure drama "The Revenant" is set to hit theaters in January.
