The film adaptation of The Girl on the Train is progressing. The first batch of the casting procedures has already listed prominent names of Hollywood stars. Now, reports have piled more great actors for the new project.
Lately, the names of Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett were confirmed to play a role in the adaptation. Evening Standard has reported that Emily Blunt has talked about playing her role as British. "It's moved to New York but I'm going to play her as British, that was a decision Tate and I made recently," she said. She reiterated that she will try not to hold down on what people may think but, she will be doing it on her own take.
Aside from them, two other actors are making their way in joining the three actresses in the upcoming film. Variety has reported that Chris Evans and Jared Leto are in negotiations with Dream Works.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ferguson will be playing as Anna, the former inamorata and current wife of Rachel's (Blunt) ex-husband. A married neighbour of Rachel who was having an affair with her husband before she went missing will be portrayed by Bennett. Evans will be Tom, the ex-husband, and the neighbor's (Bennett) husband will be role played by Leto.
Under the direction of Tate Taylor, the film was scripted by Erin Cressida Wilson alongside Marc Platt as the producer and Jared LeBoff and Celia Costas as the executive producers.
Based on the best-selling novel of Paula Hawkins, the story was compared to Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl for its narrative. The story follows Rachel's struggle with her life. She is a newly divorced woman who fell into alcoholism trying to cope. As she rides the London train every day, she will fantasize over the lives of most likely perfect couples. But, things will soon change.
It seems like big names are put on together on the casts' list. "The Girl on the Train" movie adaptation is scheduled for release in 2016.
