Harrison Ford has come back as Han Solo in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', and has solidified being the iconic Han Solo. Ford's reprisal is lauded by the director J.J. Abrams, and will sure set the bar high for the Han Solo spinoff to get the character right.
According Comic Book Resources Spinoff, Abrams called Ford's return as Han Solo as "remarkable", describing how Ford effortlessly became Han Solo, after nearly 40 years of last donning the role. It would have been understandable if the returning cast of Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill needed time to "redsicover" their respective iconic roles, but there was no need for that. Abrams said he had no reason to worry, as they flipped back into the roles as if they have been playing them their whole life.
Ford's return as Han Solo comes with the news of the 'Han Solo spin off' movie. Part of the 'Star Wars Anthology', which features stand alone stories, the 'Han Solo movie' will be about the origin story of the character. With the character as a youngster, even younger than he was in the original Star Wars trilogy, there is a hunt for an actor to fill in these big shoes.
According to Screen Rant, the 'Han Solo spin off' movie faces a challenging casting hurdle with Harrison Ford putting his stamp on the character. The article has mentioned a few names that might be a good fit with the "anti-heroic scoundrel", like Ansel Engort, Zac Efron, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Taron Egerton among others.
