The Samsung Note Pro 12.2 and Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 units from Verizon Wireless have received the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update.
Samsung Electronics continues to release the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version even though Android 6.0 Marshmallow is fast approaching.
According to Tech Times, the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 was released in April 2014 and the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 in January 2014 and both of these gadgets were running on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Now, both of these tablets will jump to Android 5.1.1. and is said to be the latest devices to get the latest operating system update from Verizon Wireless carrier.
Ubergizmo further discussed that the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 will be receiving Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software version LMY47X.T337VVRU3BOH2. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 will receive software version P905VVRUBOH1 from Verizon Wireless carrier.
Phone Arena cited some awesome changes this update will bring to both devices. One of the most important enhancements that Google incorporated into the Lollipop version of Android was the Material Design user interface principle. Some of the other features include new Quick Settings, enhanced notification system and the usual range of performance advancements.
Apart from the common Lollipop features, these two devices also got a few exceptional treats. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 gets a fresher version of KNOX, this is Samsung's mobile security platform. The Galaxy App Store had an auto-update feature and the device also gets a few security features not related to KNOX.
Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 will also get all of the new features from the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. In addition, Note Pro will be having a new Download Booster app and a new "Kids Mode" widget.
Verizon Wireless has just released the latest Android 5.1.1 update for their Samsung Note Pro 12.2 and Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. With this update, the tablet user experience will never be the same.
