20th Century Fox is looking to explore the father-and-son relationship in the next standalone film "Wolverine 3." The great Professor Charles Xavier is likely to fulfill the father role.
According to IGN, 20th Century Fox wants to incorporate a father-and-son relationship in "Wolverine 3." The studio is basically referring to the bond between Hugh Jackman's clawed hero and Patrick Stewart's cerebral professor.
Although the third film is still in the midst of developing the script, reports state what "Wolverine 3" might entail. Speaking with Collider, Jackman opened up about the one thing he wanted to see in the last film - the father-and-son relationship between his character and Charles Xavier.
"I think it's a really important relationship but I want to see signs of that quasi-father/son sort of relationship that has not been seen before, and sides of particularly Professor X that have not been seen before. So we have some really, really cool ideas."
Professor X has known to be the father figure to all the X-Men, and has since been his primary role. He taught Wolverine how not to live a solitary life. Having him in the film will totally make sense, as a way to put a closure to Wolverine's past and bring everything back into that relationship.
Patrick Stewart, on the other hand, has previously announced his appearance in "Wolverine 3." However, according to Comic Book Resources, there has yet to be enough details about the project; while rumors that the movie would be based on Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's "Old Man Logan" have since been debunked.
The movie is reported to hit theaters March 3, 2017, and fans will get to see Sabortooth as well as Wolverine's iconic Berserker Rage. Fans will have another chance to see everyone's favorite steel-clawed mutant.
Well, it seems that "Wolverine 3" will be a pretty exciting movie compared to its predecessors, as it explores the father-and-son relationship. Added to the hype is Professional Charles Xavier, who will fulfill the father role.
