Despite recently being divorced, country singer Blake Shelton held a free concert on September 23rd for all his Nashville fans. The 39-year-old musician took to the headquarters of Warner Music Nashville to perform an outside concert for over 10,000 fans. Though the newly single singer didn't talk about his recent divorce, or his love life, the musician did open his set with a song that's all about heartache.
According to Eonline, Blake Shelton performed in front of the headquarters of his record label, the 'Warner Music Nashville.' The free concert was part of the company's 'Pickin' On The Patio' concert series where other singers such as Cole Swindell, Charlie Worsham and Jana Kramer have also been apart off.
The one-hour set was opened up with the popular country singers single, 'Neon Light;' however, though no reference of his recent divorce with wife of four years, Miranda Lambert was mentioned, the opening song contained heart breaking lyrics, which could of been a hint on his feelings in his current situation.
Throughout the evening Shelton joked with the crowd and expressed his gratitude to the 10,000 plus fans that turned up to support his concert. "Let me tell you something, I'm shocked and honored that this many people came out here tonight," he grinned. "This calls for a drink man, come on. To country music!"
In a report from People, prior to the concert, a small reception was held inside the headquarters were 'The Voice' judge took the time to thank and praise all the hardworking people that have had his back, supported, and helped him become who he is today. The much loved singer gratefully gave special mentions to his manager and the songwriters that have all helped him gain his fame.
The Boot also reported that the announcement of the free concert wasn't announced by Blake until late last week, giving him only a week to get the word around. However, despite the short notice the celebrity was speechless with the turnout, stating "Look at these country music freaks out here, man!" "I love it."
With the success of the concert, Blake Shelton is over the moon with the amount of fans and supporters that turned up. With his upcoming greatest hits record, 'Reloaded: 20 #1 Hits' being released on October 23rd, fans will able to enjoy the many famous songs their favourite singer has produced in the comfort of their own home.
