Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Expected to Receive Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Early in October

By

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update early October in the US as a Canadian mobile carrier revealed that it is releasing the same update to the same phone. Bell hinted that mobile carriers in the US would also follow suit as Marshmallow's debut looms as the same time.

A tweet post made by Bell reported that the Galaxy Note 4 smartphones will receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. This prompted reports that the latest software version of Android Lollipop will also come to Galaxy Note 4 across all carriers at the same time or shortly after.

Samsung has already rolled out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop instructions to mobile carriers and Sprint is the only carrier in the United States to have released the update yet. Other networks like AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon Wireless have not let out the latest Lollipop version for now but without explanation since Samsung has already finished the testing.

Mobile carriers cannot push the blame to Samsung or any unqualified issue of the phone since Sprint has finished already with the rollout to its units of Galaxy Note 4. Consumers are turning to community forums to vent out their concerns regarding the overdue release of the update.

Some other Samsung phones updated with Android 5.1.1 are the mid-range ones, including Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Grand Prime, Galaxy Core Prime, Galaxy Mega 2, and Galaxy J1.

The Galaxy Note 4's current software status are as follows:

Software Version

AT&T

Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

T-Mobile

Android 5.0.1 Lollipop

US Cellular

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop brings notable new features and needed improvements. The Material Design has been improved with more animations, while notification has more options. Android 5.1.1 also features device sharing and device syncing, plus security patches.

If notified for the update over the air, just click "Install Now" and follow onscreen instructions. Endure that the device is Wi-Fi connected and has enough memory space. To manually check for the update, go to Settings > About phone > Software update > Check for updates.
