After getting a notable memo feature from Samsung's new release Galaxy Note 5 smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3 is expected to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. Reports have it that Lollipop's latest software version will hit across carriers in the US as US Celullar have done so.
Following the release of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to Samsung Galaxy Note 3 by US Cellular, reports now have it that Galaxy Note 3 units will also receive the same update across all carriers shortly after. Lollipop's final software version is expected to be rolled out by mobile carriers amid the Marshmallow fuss.
Samsung has already rolled out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop instructions to mobile carriers and US Cellular is the only carrier in the United States to have released the update yet. Other networks like AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless have not let out the latest Lollipop version for now but without explanation since Samsung has already finished the testing.
Mobile carriers cannot push the blame to Samsung or any unqualified issue of the phone since US Ceullar has finished already with the rollout to its units of Galaxy Note 3. Consumers are turning to community forums to vent out their concerns regarding the overdue release of the update.
Some other Samsung phones updated with Android 5.1.1 are the mid-range ones, including Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Grand Prime, Galaxy Core Prime, Galaxy Mega 2, Galaxy J1, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4.
The Galaxy Note 3's current software status are as follows:
Mobile Carrier | Software Version |
AT&T | Android 5.0 Lollipop |
Sprint | Android 5.0 Lollipop |
US Cellular | Android 4.4.2 KitKat |
