Oculus Rift has its VR performance advantage than HTC Vive: Motion sickness problems in VR devices experienced

Though neither Oculus Rift nor HTC Vive could win a fashion design award, Virtual Reality gear testing shows great potential from Rift than Vive. However, motion sickness problems have been encountered.

Tech manufacturers are already taking their paths into virtual reality, even though the technology is still on the starting stage of development. Companies like Oculus and HTC have already started its journey to VR techs.

The Oculus Rift has a Consumer Edition which is quite appealing and comfortably fit based on a report from Tech Radar. It covers half of the face as it reaches from the forehead to the tip of the nose. The headphones aren't big and are made of plastic. So, users wouldn't be able to hear someone talking around. The sound is decent, though.

The Oculus Rift is comparable to an ultra-amazing 3D TV with more conventional game soundtracks. 20 titles are ready to be launched for the Oculus Rift. Gamers would love to play games such as Edge of Nowhere, EVE, Esper, Valkyrie, and Chronos.

On the other hand, the HTC Vive is like a holodeck generating new dimensions whenever the user moves around and walk to a direction. It offers a total 360-degree experience when playing a game.

Digital Trends reports that the hardware is good enough for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift that it shouldn't nauseate the majority of users, however, many VR testers have encountered motion sickness especially with HTC Vive. Even games and apps controlled while sitting with a traditional controller can be comfortable if developers use tricks like limiting movement and turning speed, anchoring players with some sort of cockpit, or teleportation-style movement.

Neither Oculus Rift nor HTC Vive would win a fashion award because of its bulky design, according to IT Pro. Moreover, HTC Vive shows to be a bit larger than Oculus Rift.

Oculus recommends an Intel i5-4590 processor, more than 8GB or RAM, and Windows 7 SPI for the Rift while the HTC haven't announced any requirements for Vive but it seems like it has the same recommendation.

The HTC Vive will be released by the last quarter of 2015 and the Oculus Rift will be available by the first quarter of 2016. The Oculus Rift has its obvious advantages, though consumers have their choices which one to purchase. There are rumours circulating online that the HTC Vive is cheaper than Rift.
