The favorite Angels action heroes are reportedly getting a new film reboot with Elizabeth Banks to helm. Banks who also directed the successful "Pitch Perfect 2" is in talks to produce and direct.
If the negotiations proceed, the film will be the third of the franchise since it started as a hit television series in 1970's originally starring Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith. In the big screen, the original "Charlie's Angels" film franchise featured Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Lui as the trio of private detectives. The first film was a blockbuster hit in 2000, but the follow-up, "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," was a disappointment.
Director/producer Banks who also started as an actress shared her thoughts on would be "Charlie's Angels" ratings. She stated that she is not majorly concern on the ratings that a film might get when she is on the project. For the actress, there should have a good collaboration and communication among the studio, the financier and the filmmaker. The audience must be considered too prior to helming the film.
As for Banks being an actress, she said that she loved to see the new "Charlie's Angels" in R-rating. She also revealed that she is a dirty-minded and foul mouthed person and that she finds it challenging to helm a PG comedy film.
Aside from the upcoming reboot, Banks is also set to direct a comedy television movie "The Greater Good." On being an actress, she will be appearing in the television series "Moonbeam City," "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" and "Pitch Perfect 3." Banks enjoyed a huge hit this summer with her feature directorial debut "Pitch Perfect 2," which earned in $285 million worldwide on a $29 million budget.
Banks is also producing "Charlie's Angels" alongside her husband and production partner Max Handelman. Consequently she has been in demand right after "Pitch Perfect 2's" success. Recently, she is said to be close to directing an adaptation of the YA novel Red Queen.
