At the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday night, Beyonce and Ed Sheeran came together for a performance of "Drunk In Love". On the other hand, Coldplay brought out Ariana Grande for a surprise duet of Ariana's song "Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart."
According to Entertainment Tonight, Beyonce and Ed Sheeran just recently blasted off together on Saturday for a duet at the Global Citizen Festival. The event was held in New York City's Central Park and it aims to highlight awareness to social issues with the help the help of other well- known speakers and performers.The Global Citizen Festival performances this year featured Beyonce,Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran, Tori Kelly, and more.
Not only that Beyonce and Sheeran duet together, Ariana Grande also made her special appearance with Coldplay while singing her song. According to Billboard, Coldplay started off the concert with a the band's performance of their all- time favorite songs, including "Yellow" and "Viva La Vida." The band even surprised the concertgoers as singer Ariana Grande appeared on the center stage with the band. They performed together with of Ari's song "Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart."
Other stars also took part in the event. Every after the musical performances, Leonardo DiCaprio, Salma Hayek and Vice President Joe Biden claimed the stage to discuss on many of the issues that the festival promised to address. Such social issues include ending world poverty and the world's migrant crisis.
But the show seemingly gave emphasis on Beyonce's performance with Sheeran. She kicked off the stage as she debut the remix of her song "Crazy In Love". Then came her duet with the "Photograph" crooner. The performance was not the first time that the two singers have shared the same stage. Earlier this year, they teamed up for a Stevie Wonder tribute special at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, as reported by US Weekly.
And after shutting down with her performances from Destiny's Child's songs "Survivor" up to "Flawless," Beyonce paid respect to the first lady, Michelle Obama as she took the stage. "I am honored to follow a woman whom I admire and adore, someone who believes as passionately as I do, the boundless promise of girls worldwide," the First Lady stated after the singer introuced her.
Meanwhile, the pair also performed other duets on the night. Queen Bey performed with Pearl Jam lead vocalist Eddie Vedder to cover Bob Marley & the Wailer's "Redemption Song". Ed Sheeran, on the other hand, brought out Chris Martin to team up for his popular song "Thinking Out Loud".
